Monode's electrochemical etching power units provide a low voltage secondary power supply that can be switched between AC and DC output. Most power units provide between 6 – 44 volts output, controlable via a rheostat.
All of our etching power units contain either an internal thermal overload or an external fuse for operator protection, and feature banana jacks or polarity receptacles for use with cord sets.
Electrochemical Etching Power Units
Lectroetch Power Units
V10A
Analog unit with Digital display brings the old style together with modern technology. Voltages ranging from 0-26 volts you can adjust your unit to the precise voltage you would like to use for your marking. Unit settings can alternate between AC/DC and have a “pulse” interrupter switch. Digital display shows in real time the volt setting and the amount of amperage the unit is pulling while marking.
V45A
Analog unit with amphenol cord attachment used for grid marking with voltages ranging between 6, 8,12,15,18,22 volts capable of pulling 50 amps. Designed for low photogrammetry error. Used predominantly in the auto industry for testing automotive formability. Unit settings can alternate between AC/DC and have an interrupter option.
MBG Kit
The Monode MBG Kit contains basic equipment for the Monode marking method. It features a power unit, applicator fixtures (bench fixture, hand fixture), electrolytes, stencils, and neutralizer. A carrying case is optional.
Etching Accessories
Grounds
A hand ground and knife edge are used with small and large bench fixtures. A finger ground is used for speedy handling of parts when marking on bench fixture.
Three Wire Cord Set
Red, black, green and yellow banana-type terminals with slip-on alligator clips.
Inline Foot Switches
Available for some units to enhance operator control.
Male and Female Adapters
Male adapters are for cord sets with female connectors and Monode holders. Female adapters are for banana plugs and holders fitted with a 0.140" male connector.
Stencil Cleaner Trays
Monode stencil cleaning trays serve as reservoirs for the electrolyte and are connected to the yellow jack on Monode power units. The reversed polarity current electrolytically cleans the stencil on hand pads or inspection markers.
